Entrance to national parks will be free on Thursday, on the occasion of the national holiday of Independence Day, the National Parks of Montenegro (NPCG) announced.
The NPCG congratulated all citizens on the national holiday and invited all interested enthusiasts to visit protected areas and spend pleasant time outdoors in nature.
"On the occasion of this significant date on which Montenegro celebrates its jubilee - 20 years since the restoration of independence, on Thursday, entrance to the national parks: Durmitor, Biogradska gora, Lovćen, Skadar Lake and Prokletije is free," the statement said.
The National Parks of Montenegro reminded citizens of the benefits they can get by purchasing annual tickets for all five national parks at the Parks' toll booths, at a price of 13,5 euros.
"We also emphasize that on the occasion of the state jubilee - 20 years since the restoration of Montenegro's independence, NPCG and Crnogorska komercijalna banka (CKB) are launching the promotional campaign Visit them all. In this regard, the first two thousand cardholders of this bank have the opportunity to visit the website www.nparkovi.me "buy an annual ticket for all five national parks - with a 50 percent refund, or at a price of only 6,75 euros," the statement said.
Through this cooperation, the National Council of Montenegro and the Central Bank of Montenegro want to enable citizens to celebrate this national holiday, as well as their free time, in the heart of nature, exploring the priceless treasures that make our homeland unique in the world.
"In order to preserve the overall values of the NPCG, expecting favorable weather conditions these days, as well as in the coming months, we appeal to visitors to behave ecologically responsibly, respect the rules of conduct in nature, and, for their own safety, as well as the safety of all users of protected areas, to exclusively use marked and marked trails with appropriate footwear and clothing, as well as to inform themselves in a timely manner about weather conditions before arriving," said the NPCG.
Photography and nature lovers are reminded not to use drones while in national parks, unless they have the necessary permits from the competent state authorities and approval from the NPCG.
"We also warn that driving quads and dirt bikes outside categorized roads is strictly prohibited, as deviating from them endangers important natural protected habitats," the statement concludes.
