The Legislative Committee supported the Price Limitation Act

The Parliamentary Legislative Committee supported the Bill on Temporary Measures to Limit the Prices of Products of Special Importance to People's Life and Health.

That draft law was prepared by the previous Government, that is, the Ministry of Economic Development (MER), and the new Government decided at the session on May 5 that it would stick with the proposed act.

The law envisages the creation of a legal framework for limiting prices in cases of serious inflationary risks, as well as market disturbances, and a by-law will determine the list of products to which the law applies, with the obligation to review the decision every three months.

Democratic Montenegro MP Vladimir Martinović said that the proposal for this law did not comply with legal procedures, because its text mentions the names of ministers from the former government.

"Only the proposer must be at the Committee session. I don't see the proposers of (former minister Milojko) Spajić and (former minister) Srzentićka here. I see quasi-minister (Goran) Đurović here," said Martinović.

He asked Đurović in what capacity he was on the Committee and at which session the new Government approved the draft law.

The President of the Committee, Maja Vukićević, said that they received a letter in which the Government declared that it stands by this law and that the Minister of Economic Development, Goran Đurović, was designated as the proposer.

"From that point of view, I think we did the right thing," she said.

"Can you just tell me how we can get a document in which Spajić, Milatović and Srzentićeva are signed, and today we have Đurović here. Whoever told you that, I responsibly claim that this can go today, I tell you that it can" , Martinovic said.

Đurović repeated that the Government concluded at the session on May 5 that it stands by the proposed law, and that he was designated as an authorized person.
