Milović: Why did the price of the second section of the highway increase, what exactly is being paid and who agreed to it?

Nikola Milović, Secretary General of the DPS and a member of the Parliament of Montenegro, asked the authorities to answer the question of why the price of the second section of the Mateševo ​​- Andrijevica highway increased, who made the decision to pay for it and what exactly is being paid.

"If we know that the terrain is gentler and that there will be fewer challenges than with the first section, how come the agreed price is higher?" Milović asked in a post on Iks.

"The second section of the highway YES, shovel and nail finally YES, but at what price? The second section of the Mateševo ​​- Andrijevica highway will cost €693,9 million for 23,5 km - almost €30 million/km, which is €150 million more than the Government's estimate from a few months ago," he stated.

The DPS MP said that FIDIC contracts, geological risks and additional requirements explain the technical part, but do not replace political responsibility.

"The highway is crucial for development, but without transparency, this price increase becomes a serious burden on the economy and citizens. A clear cost structure and explanation of decisions are crucial for a positive attitude towards the second section of the highway that has long been promised by the Government," he concluded.
