The Director of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA), Ivan Šćekić, has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the JAA Training Organization (JAA TO), thus giving Montenegro a representative in the management structure of the European aviation body, the CAA announced today.

The CAA added that this membership was announced at the meeting of the directors general of civil aviation authorities - ECAC member states, which was held on May 19 in Marseille.

"The newly elected director of the Albanian Civil Aviation Agency, Maksim Ethemaj, has also been appointed, and the board also includes the highest representatives of the aviation authorities of Malta and Portugal," the CAA said.

The agency's statement says that Šćekić is a graduate air traffic engineer, with over 15 years of professional experience in aviation.

"In addition to his professional references, he is extremely knowledgeable about the activities of the civil aviation authority at the national and international levels. The CAA said that JAA TO is an ECAC affiliated body with more than 50 years of experience in training the aviation industry and national authorities in the field of air transport.

"The organization has the status of Training Centre of Excellence (TCE) within the ICAO training system and international civil aviation standards," the CAA stated.
