Film as a tool for intercultural dialogue

The program "Film as a tool for intercultural dialogue", jointly organized by the Albanian National Center for Cinematography and the Film Center of Montenegro (FCCG), starts today with a conference at the Tirana International Hotel, and is implemented in several cities of partner countries: Tirana, Djirokastri, Wallonia, Shkodër, Podgorica, Gusinje, Ulcinj and Tuzim.

In addition to the conference, which will bring together film professionals, representatives of film centers, cultural institutions and embassies, there will also be screenings of contemporary Montenegrin and Albanian films in all overlooked cities.

The first series of screenings will be held in Albanian cities from March 27 to 30, while at the end of May and the beginning of July, the Montenegrin audience will have the opportunity to watch the latest achievements of Albanian cinematography.

Films "Eagle's Nest" by the director Milije Šćepanović was shown today at the National History Museum in Tirana, at 13.10:XNUMX p.m., followed by the film "After Winter" Ivan Bakrač at 17 p.m. Tomorrow's screenings will be in Đirokastra, in the City Cinema - Cultural Center "Musine Kokalari", where the films "Mar" are on the program Milorad Milatović and "After Winter" at 17 p.m.

Films "My name is Ana" by the director Bojan Stijović and “The Needle Under the Threshold” Ivan Marinović, will be shown in Valona on March 29, in the "Kinema Vlora" hall (Culture Palast "Laberia") at 17 p.m. "Rainbow" will be shown in Shkodër on March 30 Aleksandar Vujović and "The Needle Under the Threshold" by the director Ivan Marinović, also at 17 p.m.

In Gjirokastra and Valona, ​​films will be shown in cinemas that have recently been modernized and technically and infrastructurally improved with the support of the Interreg IPA project CIRCE, which was realized in partnership with Italy and Montenegro.

The program is part of the activities foreseen in the memorandum of cooperation between the FCCG and the Albanian National Center for Cinematography, which was recently signed by the directors of the centers in Kotor. Aleksandra Božović i Eduard Macri.

"The subject of the Memorandum is the cooperation of the centers with the aim of affirming audiovisual activities and culture, the need for audience development, as well as encouraging film co-productions between the two countries. The joint cooperation of the partners will be realized through numerous program segments such as: screening of Montenegrin films in Albania and Albanian films in Montenegro, organization of educational programs, workshops and masterclass lectures, additional networking of film workers from Montenegro and Albania", the FCCG statement states.

Screenings in Montenegro, at the end of May and beginning of June, will be announced later.
