Stage reading of the dramatic text "Conspirators" by the author Igor Stiks i Vladimir Arsenijević, based on the motifs of Krokodil's "Common Reading Room", will be held on Friday, August 11 in Kotor, as part of the KotorArt International Festival, Don Branko's Days of Music.
The director of the play is Boris Liješević, and they read the text Svetozar Cvetkovic, Isidora Minic, Dejan Dedic i Marko Grabež, while the partners of this event are the Association "Krokodil", My Balkans and Terre Solidare.
"On the basis of the texts published in the 'Common Reading Room' edition, this exciting mixture of voices, linguistic and artistic polyphony was created, which convincingly proves that, although today we find ourselves divided into several different countries, and many of us are scattered, we do not respect each other we represent foreigners. Because there is no passport in literature. The bonds that exist between all of us, which rest on the common social property of both language and a great literary heritage, are much stronger than the destructive forces that in the past few decades have produced more evil than we could ever imagine. This evil is talked about in 'The Conspirators', as well as a conspiracy for a different, better future", the description of the play points out and adds:
"Literature has a key place in it, because imagination is more important to us today than ever before. This is an expression of tenacity of optimism and a firm belief that the bonds on which the literary republic rests in the European South will live on."
The organizers of KotorArt say that this year's program brings not only a rich music program, but also a lot of other quality content and they promise an exciting summer.
"We invite the audience to the adventure of reading and discovering the play 'The Conspirators', which, speaking of a conspiracy for a different, better future, also brings a dose of optimism," the festival's public relations office pointed out.
