More than a hundred publishing houses, more than 80 artistic programs and about 200 literary authors, critics, and publishers who will participate in them, await the visitors of this year's International Podgorica Book and Education Fair.
Although it was originally announced that the 18th edition of the event will be held in the assembly hall near the temple at the beginning of Dalmatinska Street, the location of the Fair will once again be the garage of the Big Fashion shopping center, it was announced at today's press conference.
The change of venue was due to technical problems, the director of the "Nova knjiga" publishing house explained to Vijesti. Predrag Uljarević on behalf of the organizer. He added that they decided that the Fair "will be in the Big fashion space this year", which the audience is used to.
The International Podgorica Book Fair will be officially opened on May 10 at 13 p.m., when the following will address the audience: the Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujovic, ambassador of France in Montenegro Anne-Marie Maske and Predrag Uljarević, and the program will be led by an actress from the National Theater in Belgrade Faith Mujovic, with musical accompaniment.
Introduction to the Book Fair is the first literary program of this year's event, and it will be held on May 2020 in the library of the "Slobodan Škerović" High School, when the winner of the prestigious Goncourt Award XNUMX will be presented to the audience. On that occasion, Minister Vujović, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation will also speak Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, ambassador An-Marie Maske, Predrag Uljarević and the director of the Gymnasium Biljana Vučurović. The fair lasts until May 17, and the announced program promises an all-day repertoire. The daily ticket price is two euros, for students and pupils there is a 50 percent discount, while for children the entrance is free, it was announced at the press conference.
Numerous guests have been announced at the stand of France, which is this year's country of honor, and they are among them: Jean Francois Galto, Jean Arnaud Derance, Christian Lax, Pascal Delpeche. There will be panel discussions, film screenings, workshops on various topics, quizzes, and the like, and a francophone tourist guide will be presented, which Ambassador Maska spoke about more at the press conference.
Among the guests that Uljarević announced were, among others: Kristijan Novak, Nenad Šaponja, Velibor Colić, Pero Zubac, Vladimir Pistalo, Vladimir Tabašević, Aleksandar Bečanović...
The book fair will traditionally be closed with the award ceremony on Friday, May 17 at 20 p.m.
