The Minister of Culture and Media, Tamara Vujović, submitted a proposal to the Government for granting prior consent to the Municipality of Berane for the erection of a memorial to the former Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Amfilohije.
As announced by that department, the life and work of Amfilohi will remain a "permanent spiritual legacy, because it recognizes the power of knowledge and universal human values that should form the basis of every society and state".

"The Minister of Culture and Media, Dr. Tamara Vujović, submitted a proposal for granting prior consent for the erection of a memorial to the Metropolitan of the Montenegrin Littoral, Mr. Amfilohi, before the deadline, for the following reasons:
"Amfilohije - secular Risto Radović (1938-2000) was the Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral. His honorary liturgical title was: Archbishop of Cetinje, Metropolitan of the Montenegrin Littoral, Zeta Hills and Skenderija and Exarch of the Holy Throne of Peć.
"He was born on January 7, 1938 in Bara Radovića, Municipality of Kolašin. He completed primary school in the Morača Monastery and the St. Sava Theological Seminary in Belgrade. He graduated from the Faculty of Theology in Belgrade in 1962, and at the same time studied classical philology. at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade.He continued his postgraduate studies in Bern and Rome, where he obtained his master's degree at the Eastern Pontifical Institute in 1965. After that, he entered the Greek Orthodox Church, where he received the priestly rank of hieromonk in Athens. Ph.D.
"In Paris, he was a professor at the St. Sergius Orthodox Institute, and from 1976, he became an assistant professor, then a full professor at the Theological Faculty of St. John the Theologian in Belgrade (later the Orthodox Theological Faculty), and for two terms he was the dean of the faculty. theology and philosophy, he also engaged in essay writing, translation and poetry, where he left a rich body of work.
"He spoke Greek, Russian, Italian, German and French, and in his scientific work he used ancient Greek, Latin and Church Slavonic. He was a member of numerous associations, including the Association of Writers of Montenegro. He received many important awards for his work.
"His creativity, which spans from the end of the 20th to the beginning of the 21st century, shaped the thought and vision of many generations, encouraging them to think critically and understand the spiritual and cultural aspects of our society. As one of the key spiritual authorities of the time in which he lived, not only had a significant role in the preservation of tradition and spiritual life, he also contributed to the affirmation of Montenegro at the international level is a permanent legacy and contribution engraved in the history of Montenegro, as an example of wisdom and enlightenment.
"As a spiritual authority of his time, he successfully harmonized the contemporary world view with traditional values, thereby helping Montenegro to more easily adapt to the challenges of the new age, while remaining faithful to its spiritual roots.
"Through his work, he connected Montenegro with the world's intellectual elite, thereby contributing not only to the cultural but also to the diplomatic affirmation of our country. The life and work of Metropolitan Amfilohi will remain a lasting spiritual legacy, because it recognizes the power of knowledge and universal human values that should form the basis of every society and state."
