Young Montenegrin actress Lidija Kordić, who recently gained international attention with her role in the Italian film "Diva Futura" premiered in the main competition program of the Venice Film Festival, has been selected to be part of the prestigious "European Shooting Stars" program at the upcoming edition of the Berlin Film Festival . Kordić is the first actress from Montenegro to receive this important recognition.
It is a four-day program held as part of the industrial part of the Berlin Film Festival, where, along with Lidija Kordić, agents and producers will be presented to nine other selected young actors on the rise from various parts of Europe. The program is specially designed to enable young talents to meet international journalists, casting managers, producers and filmmakers. The invitation to this program and participation in it certainly represent a great honor and sincere recognition of talent, effort and potential for further advancement. The "European Shooting Stars" awards ceremony will be held on February 17, 2025, in the main festival hall - "Berlinale Palast", where all selected actors and actresses will be awarded individually.

In its explanation, the international jury particularly highlighted the charismatic performance of Lidija Kordić in the Italian drama "Diva Futura", as well as her willingness to accept artistic challenges beyond the borders of her country. The jury especially praised her role in the film "The Working Class Goes to Hell", where she showed an exceptional ability to express a wide range of emotions exclusively with facial expressions, without a single spoken word. The explanation also points out that she is a dedicated actress who also possesses enviable musical abilities.
The program "European Rising Stars", which has been held since 1998 in the organization of the pan-European network dedicated to the promotion of European cinema "European Film Promotion" (of which the Film Center of Montenegro is a member since 2018), has an impressive history of launching significant acting careers. In addition to acting, Kordić is also actively involved in music, which he considers his first love.
Born in Kotor in 1995, she began her acting education after two years of trying to enroll in acting studies in Montenegro, and then found her way at the Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts. The filmography of the young Montenegrin actress already includes notable roles in several significant regional and international projects.
