The trio consists of: a violinist Nadezhda Artamonova, a pianist Alexey Kurbatov and a cellist Sergey Suvorov, will perform works by contemporary composers Boris Ljatošinski (Trio br. 1 - 1922), Harry Waldo Warner (Trio - 1921), Alexey Kurbatov (Trio br. 5 - 2024) i Gevina Brajersa (Lauda with mute - 2002).

"The outstanding Ukrainian composer Boris Lyatoshinsky (1895-1968) wrote his first piano trio in 1922, during a very difficult period for Ukraine. That period is evoked in the trio's music with incredible expression and lyricism. Developing his late-romantic musical style, Ljatošinski approached the aesthetics of Austrian Expressionism, which connects his work from the 20s with the most modern currents of European music of the time. At the same time, he did not lose the national melodic basis of his work. The trio consists of three movements, and each of them has its own striking character and central motif," the organizers say.
English composer Harry Waldo Warner (1874-1945) composed his trio at the same time as Ljatoshinsky, they add.
"Warner was a violist with the London String Quartet, known for performing programs of contemporary music, which included newly written compositions Arnold Schoenberg, Ernst Dohnanji, Flow on the arm and many others. In 1920, an American patron became acquainted with his work Elizabeth Coolidge, which later supported him and published his new works. Her patronage was used by many important composers of the time, among whom were Samuel Barber, Bela Bartok, Benjamin Britten, Arthur Honegger i Sergei Prokofiev. The trio consists of three parts and is filled with elegant and witty themes," the announcement reads.
Trio no. 5 by Alekseja Kurbatov (1983) is a new piece written by the composer in 2024 in Podgorica, especially for the Arkus Trio.
The work "Lauda con sordino" by the English composer Gavin Bryars (Gavin Bryars, 1943–) was created in 2002 for an atypical instrumental composition - viola, electric guitar and piano. It is an extremely beautiful meditative composition that allows the listener to forget about time and space", the announcement states.
