The new Winter edition of the Adriatic Region Festival Network will be held from January 18 to 26, and during that period five important regional films will be available to the audience for free on the online platform ondemand.kinomeetingpoint.ba, announced the Herceg Novi Film Festival.
Film lovers in Montenegro, as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and North Macedonia, will be able to enjoy selected award-winning works that have already been shown at regional festivals that make up the Network.
So the program includes: "Observation" Janez Burger, "Excursion" Una Gunjak, "Only when I'm smiling" Vanje Juranic, “M” Vardana Tozije and "The Working Class Goes to Hell" Mladena Đorđevića.
In the movie "Observation" by Janez Burger, a nurse (Diana Kolenc) tries to find out why she receives mysterious footage of a brutal crime, which she saw live on social networks, until it becomes clear to her that she herself participated in the crime, according to the description.
The program also includes Una Gunjak's debut feature film "Excursion", which has already recorded significant success, and was premiered at the festival in Lokarno, where it won the Special Jury Award.
"A small, seemingly harmless lie, suddenly brings a teenage girl before a storm of expectations, judgments and social dogmas. The film was a Bosnian candidate for the Oscar, and Asja Zara Lagumdžija for her role in this film, she has been awarded several times", the announcement states.
The film "Only when I smile" by Vanja Juranić was inspired by a true event.
“Tina (Tihana Lazović) is a housewife who takes care of her daughter and lives with Fran (Slavko Šobin) on the Adriatic coast. Marital tensions rise when she expresses a desire to graduate from college, breaking away from the traditional gender roles in their seemingly perfect marriage,” the synopsis reads.
The psychological thriller "M" by Vardan Tozija is a film about growing up.
"The world has been devastated by the pandemic. Alone and unprotected by the forest, Marko (Matej Sivakov) is facing a broken world of silence and danger", added the Festival Network of the Adriatic Region.
The film "The Working Class Goes to Hell" by Mladen Đorđević premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
"After losing their loved ones, their jobs and their dignity in a fire and dubious privatization, a group of former factory workers resort to the supernatural in their fight for justice," the synopsis reads. This is the third Winter edition of the Festival Network of the Adriatic Region, organized with the aim of promoting and increasing the visibility of quality regional film productions, and is a unique opportunity for audiences in Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and North Macedonia to watch multiple award-winning regional films online for free. .
The Adriatic Region Festival Network was founded in 2021 as a joint project of leading film festivals from the region: Sarajevo Film Festival, Belgrade Original Film Festival, Ljubljana International Film Festival, Zagreb Film Festival, Herceg Novi Film Festival and Manaki Brothers from North Macedonia.
