Whether the exhibition will begin with a grand opening is a question raised in the statement of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro announcing the new exhibition.
"Join us tomorrow, January 23rd at 12:28 PM at the MSUCG Gallery in the preparatory work for the opening of the Workers' Club exhibition - with the action of tearing down the gallery wall, while the exhibition will officially open on Tuesday, January 19th at XNUMX:XNUMX PM," the organizers say, adding:
"The Workers' Club exhibition 'Between Us' begins with the very act of installation. This event is part of the work on the exhibition, emphasizing that time, space, and conditions of exhibition form the artwork itself."
The architecture of the gallery space is the starting point, the announcement states.
"The glass windows, which in the original plan by Kane Radević provided a view of both the street and the garden, are not just physical elements of the space but conceptual tools that encourage a rethinking of the way art institutions can function. The walls represent the ideology of the white cube, and art as an autonomous social activity. They represent the boundaries of the art institution that need to be dismantled in order to construct a dialogical space with society," the statement emphasizes, saying "by removing the wall, we reveal a view of a forgotten garden."
The Workers' Club is an author's project by Adrijana Gvozdenović and Nela Gligorović, and the exhibition curator is Teodora Nikčević.
