Exhibition "Ideal Form", female artist Verice Bulatovic Filipovic, will be opened today in Podgorica, in the "Art" gallery of the Museum and Gallery of Podgorica at 20 pm.
Exhibition curator, art historian Aleksandra Butorović, In the text for the catalogue, she points out that the artist, through the cyclical repetition of the circular form, creates a visual synthesis of the fixed and the fluid, balancing between rational construction and intuitive expression.
“Verica Bulatović Filipović’s latest cycle is initially presented in small formats, and then, moving to larger canvases, depicts a simultaneously fixed and fluid, balanced construction of a circle. In fact, by cyclically repeating this definition of a circle, creating a scheme of the cosmic Eye that burns more strongly each time and is increasingly saturated with her being, the artist constantly studies and reconstructs it, unifying the story by creating not only what is, but also what can be. Having set herself the search for universal truth as a lifelong task, Verica Bulatović Filipović’s art is a radical act of questioning and self-knowledge,” writes Butorović, adding that the author thus “posits art as an act of self-knowledge and the search for universal truth.”
Verica Bulatović Filipović was born in Podgorica in 1980. She graduated from the “Slobodan Škerović” Gymnasium, and then received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, Department of Painting. She has been a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Montenegro since 2006 and has the status of an independent artist.
The exhibition will last until April 4th.
