The second edition of the "Days of the Independent Scene" event will be held from March 8 to 28 at the Royal Theater Zetski Dom in Cetinje. The audience will have the opportunity to see performances from a variety of genres from Montenegro, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Slovenia.
The event will open on March 8 with the play "The Dog House", by the art organization "Arterarij" from Croatia. The play deals with the difficult and insufficiently discussed topic of war rape and its long-term consequences on people, families, communities and society as a whole. Through the stories of two families from different backgrounds, the play explores how the trauma of war violence affects not only those who experienced it, but is transmitted to the next generations. The text was written by Dorotea Susak, Mario Mazic i Romano Nikolic in collaboration with the performers, and directed by Romano Nikolić. The roles are performed by: Anita Matić-Delic, Dušan Gojić, Jelena Graovac-Lucev, Nikola Nedic i Davor Tarbuk
The very next day, March 9th, they will present themselves to the public. Jelena Djukic, Maja Stojanovic, Marija Djuric i Maša Labudović comedy "Golf 4", all segments of which are performed by four actresses. Inspired by the text "Lady Foursome" Norm Foster, untranslated and unstaged both in Montenegro and in the region, the authors adapted and created an exciting story about friendship, secrets, love and betrayal.
On Monday, March 10, the play "The Princess" will be performed on the stage of the Royal Theatre, produced by the NGO "Maska" from Herceg Novi. The play is based on a text by the playwright Jelena KajgoA young woman from Novalja appears in the role of Ksenija Petrović. Milica Lucic, and her father, Prince and King Nikola I Petrović Njegoš, is played by the actor Dejan ĐonovićThe play takes us through the periods from Ksenija's childhood to the years spent in exile by the Petrović Njegoš dynasty.
The "Vortex" theater will arrive from North Macedonia on March 12th, with the play "The Maids" directed by Teodora Siljanoska. It is a tragicomic one-act play that deals with the boredom of everyday life for people who have learned to laugh at their own lives and, despite everything, continue to fight for their individual meaning. The roles are played by: Marija Tsvetanovska, Kristina Gijeva i Vanessa Trimchevska.
The production from Belgrade will be presented to the public on March 18th; it is a multimedia project "One. Ahead of its Time" in concept and direction. Jadranka Andjelic i Diana MilosevicIt is a multimedia installation that combines live performance, exhibition, installations, performances, video work and photography.
The drama studio "Prazan prostor" will participate in this year's "Days of the Independent Scene" on March 21st with the play "Death in Dubrovnik", directed by Petra Pejakovica. The intention is to confront the public, primarily in Montenegro, with the truth about the war that was fought in Dubrovnik and its surroundings. The roles are played by: Slavisa Grubisa, Emir Catovic, Pavle Prelevic, Milos Kascelan, Kristijan Blecic i Maša Božović.
The theatrical diptych "The Sacrificed Goat", an original project by Sister Mirjana (Mirjana Medojević). This is an intriguing and unusual theatrical performance featuring the acting duo Mirjana Medojević and Primoz GunThe play is the result of cooperation between the Cultural and Artistic Association "Apocalypse" from Ljubljana and Mirjana Medojević, who also directs.
On World Theatre Day, March 27th, the audience in Cetinje will have the opportunity to watch the monodrama "Ice" Aleksandar KojicThe text was written by Rados Bajic 1975. This is a story about lost happiness and dreams, about fears, transience, about the supremacy of fate, natural laws and nature itself.
