The premiere of the long-awaited feature-length documentary film "Vude, you won", directed by Senad ŠahmanovićOn June 11th, the 16th edition of UndeehillFest - International Documentary Film Festival will open in Podgorica. Traditionally, the opening will be held at the "Dragan Ivanović" field in Njegošev Park in Podgorica, at 20 pm.
“This powerful documentary tells the story of the rise and fall of Yugoslavia's only Oscar winner, Dušan Vukotić, providing a deep insight into the phenomenon of the Zagreb School of Animated Film and that generation of creatives gathered around a common idea of producing animated films. Through this personal, but also social portrait, the film takes us through the key socio-political events of that time, as well as the significance on the global cinematographic scene of such a small country as Yugoslavia, and the airing of all of this, when its disintegration began," the announcement states.
“Vude, you won” is a co-production of Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia, realized through the cooperation of the production companies Pro Logic (CG), Sequenca (HR) and Set Sails (RS), with the support of the Film Center of Montenegro, the Croatian Audiovisual Center, the Film Center of Serbia, the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro and Radio Television of Montenegro.
At one time, the Commission for the allocation of funds at the Film Center of Serbia competition, in the category for co-financing the production of minority co-productions, emphasized that the film, a project at the time, was important for several reasons.
"One is, of course, that it will be a film biography of the first Oscar winner from the territory of the former Yugoslavia, Dušan Vukotić, which is significant enough in itself. In the second 'layer', we recognized the possibility that this film speaks about the complexity of life and work in a multinational country such as the SFRY...", they stated at the time.

The film was produced by Jure Pavlović and Senad Šahmanović, in co-production with By Miloš Ivanovic i Mary StojanovicThe script is written by Senad Šahmanović and Brother Krulcic, while the editing is done by Vladimir RadovanovićThe film crew consists of: Ivan Čojbašić, Dario Hacek, Ivana Marinić Kragić and Toni Reanud.
The sixteenth UnderhillFest will last until June 18th, and, as in all previous years, numerous documentaries from the region and the world can be expected, bringing a combination of life and art, cruelty and luxury, beauty, but also anxiety due to everything they witness.
