The Film Center of Montenegro will participate in the 78th Cannes Film Festival, which will be held from May 13 to 24, 2025, representing Montenegrin cinematography and strengthening international cooperation through a range of different activities.

At the film market "Marche du Film", the Film Center will present current Montenegrin cinematography within the Pavilion of Southeast Europe, together with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia.

The Film Center of Montenegro will present at the market the potential and capacities of Montenegro as a film destination, as well as the "Montenegrin Cinema 2025" catalog, which presents an overview of current film projects in various stages of implementation.

Also, Montenegrin producer Bojana Radulović was selected by European Film Promotion (EFP), with the support of the Film Center of Montenegro, to participate in the 26th edition of the "Producers on the Move" program, which takes place during the festival.

During the festival, an Agreement on Film Co-Production between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of the Republic of France will be signed. This bilateral agreement, which will be signed by the Ministers of Culture of both countries, regulates relations between the states regarding film co-productions and creates a legal framework for stimulating joint projects. The agreement stipulates that cinematographic works created in co-production enjoy the status of national works in both countries, with facilities for the import and export of materials necessary for filming, as well as access to various advantages and financial incentives provided for by national legislation. Filmmakers from Montenegro thus gain the opportunity to cooperate with one of the leading European cinematographies and access to significantly larger sources of financing.

In order to further empower women's creativity, the Center will once again organize a panel discussion "Empower her films: Gender diversity in film in South-East Europe", which will be held on Sunday, May 18. The event is organized in partnership with the European Women's Audiovisual Network (EWA). The panel will include: Bojana Radulović, producer, Biljana Tutorov, director and producer, Letijica Kulik, Regional Attaché for Audiovisual Activities at the French Embassy in Serbia and Vera Lacková, director and producer. The panel will focus on the challenges and opportunities facing women in the film industry in Southeast Europe, as well as strategies for advancing gender equality in the region's cinematography sector.
