The Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts is organizing its traditional panel discussion today at 12 noon, with the guest speaker being Slavic scholar Dr. Aleksandra Vojtašek.
She will give a lecture entitled "Images of Montenegro in Polish Literature".
Dr. Vojtašek is engaged at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, at the Institute of Slovenian Philology. She deals with contemporary literature and culture of the countries of the former Yugoslavia. She has translated many significant authors from the former Yugoslavia. She has especially dealt with Croatian and Serbian genre fiction, Croatian studies and topics from comparative literature. She is the author of the scientific monograph "Topografie przestrzenie wyobrażonych" (2022) and the book of essays "Fjaka, Hrvatska sezona" (2023), for which five foreign editions are being prepared.
She has published a large number of literary and scientific works, as well as reports and journalistic texts. She collaborates with numerous scientific and literary magazines in Poland and European countries. She studied at the University of Belgrade and the University of Zagreb. She has received numerous awards for her scientific, journalistic and translation work. She is currently preparing a book of essays on Montenegro for one of the largest Polish publishing houses.
