The Podgorica City Theatre will participate in the XXII International Comedy Festival "Mostarska liska", which, produced by the National Theatre in Mostar, will be held from May 16 to 23.
The play "Liars", based on the text Anthony Nilsson, directed by Marko Manojlovic, will be performed on Monday, May 19, at 20 p.m.
This year, the festival received 37 applications, and seven plays from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro were selected for the official competition. In addition to the Podgorica City Theatre, theatre companies from Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka and Zagreb are also participating.
The festival opens on May 16th with the premiere performance of the play "A Fairy Tale about the Theater", based on the text Vladimir Đurđević, directed by Ferida Karajica, produced by the National Theatre Mostar. In addition to the performance by the City Theatre and the host, the festival will feature productions by the National Theatre from Sarajevo ("Peasant Opera"), the EXIT Theatre from Zagreb ("Armageddonians"), the National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska ("Broken Jar"), the Sarajevo Youth Theatre ("Fool's Dinner"), while the competitive part of the festival will be closed by the Planet Art Theatre from Zagreb with the performance ("Tere and Luce").
The festival's closing ceremony and awards ceremony will be held on May 23rd, with a concert performance by the Filmmusicorkestar Trio from Zagreb.
The expert jury consists of: Admir Glamocak, Tanja Miletic Orucevic i Jelena Kordic Kuret, while the members of the media jury are Mladenka Krilic, Dragana Radovanovic Calija i Mirjana Topic Landeka while the audience jury consists of Nada Dalipagic, Edna Balic i Enila Dugalic.
