Museums are not only places where cultural heritage is preserved and exhibited, but they are also places that influence the formation of a sustainable and inclusive society, stimulate the local economy, and promote creativity and technological development. International Museum Day and Night will be celebrated in nine Montenegrin municipalities, with over thirty programs.
This is the message on the occasion of International Museum Day, an event organized globally under the auspices of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), with the aim of emphasizing the transformative role that museums play in contemporary society, and which is also celebrated by the Ministry of Culture and Media, in cooperation with local and national cultural institutions.
The Ministry of Culture and Media announced that the theme of this year's event is "The Future of Museums in the Context of a Rapidly Changing Society," and the focus is on how museums can influence and contribute to contemporary social, technological, and environmental changes.
"Museum Night is celebrated on the Saturday closest to May 18, International Museum Day, and the practice is to provide visitors with the opportunity to visit museum exhibits until late in the evening," the Ministry of Culture and Media announced.

The "Plenair 70" exhibition was organized today at the Cultural Center in Petnjica, and exhibitions and workshops in all cities were organized in previous days.
