The decision to terminate the position of the head of the Office for International Cooperation is unlawful and illegal and is an attack on the government in Herceg Novi, which is in opposition to the state government, claims Simonida Kordić, former head of that Office and vice president of the New Serbian Democracy at the state level.
"The political intention is quite clear. It is an attack on the opposition government at a time when the DPS is rocking the "Envelope" affair. For us, this is a recognizable regime method that whenever the regime finds itself in a crisis, it attacks the Democratic Front through its associates," Kordić is convinced.
"If this decision is going to overthrow the government in Novi, then it's better if it wasn't even formed," says the Vice President of the Municipality, Miloš Konjević, a high-ranking official of the Novi List who signed the decision, and points out that it is legal and passed with all the powers of the President of the Municipality, Stevan Katić, who in Washington attends the Prayer Breakfast.
Konjević also states that "he would like to publish the names of all the people who called him because of Kordić, so that it would be clear to many people with whom and for whom she works and what her interest is in opposition Montenegro".
The opposition DPS is individually supported by a party in the local parliament, he points out that "something is definitely rotten in the ruling coalition in Herceg Novi, which is also confirmed by the attempt to introduce the DPS into a conflict between the coalition partners and the accusations about the connection of one of them to that party. .
"For the sake of publicity, we would like to point out that the DPS does not have, nor has it ever had, any cooperation with any member of the ruling coalition in Herceg Novi. The reason is the difference in program commitments, above all in relation to several important issues for the future of the state of Montenegro", according to the OO DPS.
The DPS says that the President of the Municipality "had neither the courage nor the masculinity" to make a decision on the termination of the position of the head of the Office for International Cooperation. "We assume that he is also worried about how his godfather will react, the President of the Assembly who, like the head of the office for international cooperation, is from the ranks of the DF".
By abolishing the position of the head of the service for international cooperation, it could be the "opening of Pandora's box" in the coalition government of the Municipality of Novi, good connoisseurs of the political situation in the largest municipality of Bokele agree.
"This is a radical and irresponsible move from the point of view of preserving local government, and especially in anticipation of the culmination of the 'envelope' affair. Diverting the public's attention from the essential state problem related to the President of the State and the DPS to the local political scene, can only suit the DPS," he says. one of the members of the ruling coalition. .
Until now, the local government has had serious weaknesses, which were mostly manifested through a strange personnel policy and a serious failure in the implementation of the planned budget, especially the capital budget, for last year. It is a matter of poor selection of professional staff, and on the other hand, a large number of new workers have been employed in the entire local self-government, contrary to the goals of the coalition agreement.
"Many are not surprised because since the beginning of this government, stories have been heard about blackmail and unprincipledness, in which Novska lista is leading the way, and the Democrats are not resisting. "If you don't want to support the interests of the DPS, then this move at this moment is extremely amateurish and unworthy of serious politics, and if it's something else, then it's time for us all to see. Either way, we'll find out soon," said an interlocutor to Vijesti from the coalition government. .
"At first glance, I would say that this move is both logical and economically justified, but the timing itself leaves doubt as to why the president left this "hot potato" to his vice president, even though it was most likely agreed with the president of the municipality," says political analyst Gojko Pejović. He is convinced that this case will cause a certain problem among the coalition partners, but that it is realistic to expect that in the end everything will be the same as the old way "and drag the feds and sheep in numbers".
The ruling coalition in Herceg Novi consists of the Democrats, DF, Novska lista, SNP, and SDP-URA, which out of 34 have 20 councilors in the local parliament. In the opposition benches are DPS, SD and Izbor.
