Although the deadline for submission of electoral lists for the elections in Berane expires on Tuesday at midnight, most of the participants have not yet decided whether they will run independently or in a coalition.
This was told to "Vijesta" by the parties that have committees in that municipality.
The paper's independent appearance has been confirmed only by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), whose leader it will be Miro Nedic, and the sale is at Sunday.
The Socialist People's Party (SNP) unofficially told "Vijesta" that they will most likely perform alone, but that they do not rule out the possibility of a coalition.
New Serbian Democracy (NSD) earlier, in a statement signed by a member of the Executive Board of that party Ivana Pantović, said that in the upcoming local elections in Berane, she will advocate the formation of a broad coalition, which will bring together all relevant political actors dedicated to the interests of the citizens of that municipality.
However, from the party led by Andrija Mandić, but also from the Democrats, the Europe Now Movement (PES) and the Movement for Change could not confirm to "Vijesta" how they will participate in the elections that will be held on December 8.
The United Montenegro (UCG) told the paper that they are ready for an independent performance, but that they are not against a coalition with "parties with which they have programmatic similarities".
The citizens of Beran will certainly be able to round up the list of the European Union (Social Democrats, Social Democratic Party, Liberal Party) on the ballot, as well as the Bosniak party (BS), which will appear as a minority, "Vijesti" learns.
Freedom of Montenegro (SCG) also announced its participation in the elections. Vladislav Dajković, which, judging by the posts on social networks, has already started the campaign in Berane.
He told "Vijesta" that their municipal committee will make the final decision at the weekend, but that the majority mood in the party is for an independent exit.
"Our board collected three times more signatures than is legally required to submit the list, and I believe that we will be the most beautiful surprise of this election process. However, as young people who will always put the interests of the Serbian people first, we are ready to consider the idea of a broad Serbian coalition modeled on the elections in Podgorica, should such a thing happen. Be that as it may, what is definite is that SCG will participate in the elections in Berane", said Dajković.
The signatures and documentation necessary for participation were submitted by the citizens' list called "We live for youth" - Milanko Šćekić.
After the 2022 elections, the government in that municipality was formed by the former Democratic Front, the Democrats, Prava Montenegro, the "Berane Sad" Movement close to the then Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić, and the UCG.
Vuko Todorović (NSD) became the president of the municipality, while two vice-presidential positions went to Damjan Ćulafić (Democrats) and Mladen Premović (Berane sad).
The political crisis occurred after the failed attempt to rotate the position of the first man of Aries. Todorović resigned, but the parliament did not receive enough signatures to elect a new president.
The session of the local parliament, where the vote was supposed to be taken on shortening the mandate of councilors, was not held in September because the president of the SO Milun Rmuš did not appear for "health reasons".
