The fact that the session of the Municipal Assembly (MA) of Pljevlja was adjourned for the third time in a row, due to a lack of quorum, because some councilors from the ruling majority did not attend, shows that the initiative to remove the President of the Municipality, Dario Vraneš, has disrupted relations among the constituents of the local government, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Councilors' Club in the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly announced today.
"It is obvious that Dario Vraneš no longer has support even within the ranks of his own party, that is, that the current in the Pljevlja New Serbian Democracy (NSD) led by Milan Lekić has become immune to the so-called "Dariomicin". Therefore, we call on all responsible, conscientious and well-intentioned councilors in the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly to support our initiative to remove the President of the Municipality, Dario Vraneš, in order to finally stop this circus that has befallen the Municipality of Pljevlja," the statement states.
The DPS Councilors' Club in the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly added that they are asking the President of the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly, Jovana Tošić, "to schedule the next session of the local parliament when she ensures the presence of her colleagues from the ruling majority, because this approach reflects the frivolity and irresponsibility of this group of local authorities."
"In the end, we conclude that Pljevlja does not deserve to be held hostage by the barroom behavior of this freakish government, but rather deserves to be led by serious and responsible people, who are ready to work in the best interests of the city and its citizens," reads a statement from the DPS Councilors' Club in the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly.
The Pljevlja Municipal Assembly session was postponed again this morning due to a lack of quorum. 13 councilors, out of the 23 members of the ruling majority, showed up in the hall, so the Speaker of the Parliament Jovana Tošić was forced to interrupt the session.
Tošić said that a new date for the continuation of the session would be set in the coming days, but did not specify when.
