The Ministry of Public Administration conducts supervision over all local government units equally, consistently and without exceptions, does not discriminate or turn a blind eye to irregularities, the department said.
"Regarding the expectations expressed by NSD Budva, we emphasize that Minister Dukaj remains firmly committed to the position that any body that does not act in accordance with the Law will bear legal responsibility. The Ministry acts professionally, and the only criterion is the law," the statement reads.
They said that, when it comes to the Municipality of Budva, the Ministry has taken all measures within its jurisdiction, with clear positions that have been confirmed by the competent courts. Administrative supervision regarding the election of the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality is ongoing, and the public will be informed of the outcome in a timely manner, the Ministry said.
They also add that all actions within the scope of legal authority have been taken regarding the legality of the Temporary Facilities Program.
They remind that other departments are also responsible for legality in the areas they cover.
"Finally, we would like to send a message to the NSD, and to all other political entities, as well as politicians in institutions: instead of calling out and criticizing the Ministry of Public Administration - consider and adopt the legal and strategic regulations prepared and proposed by this Ministry. Call on your representatives in the Government and Parliament to move from the declarative to the substantive. We have clearly indicated to all branches of government that the system is seriously endangered and that it can only be corrected through decisive and professional work from the highest levels," the Ministry said.
They said that the rule of law is not built through statements, but through the adoption of laws and the introduction of democratic standards.
