President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović attended last night's working dinner organized by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, held as part of the Munich Security Conference.
As announced by the Office of the President, the dinner brought together leaders of European Union member states and US senators, and was dedicated to strengthening transatlantic ties at a time when the security and political stability of Europe require strong and coordinated action.
"Addressing the most influential decision-makers from the EU and the United States, President Milatović said that Montenegro's membership in NATO is the foundation of its security and a clear confirmation of its strategic commitment to the Euro-Atlantic community," it was announced.
Milatović, it is added, emphasized that full membership in the European Union is a natural and logical continuation of that path, and that Montenegro wants to enter the EU prepared, as a state with stable institutions, a strong rule of law, and a reliable partner within the transatlantic alliance.
"In times of global challenges, transatlantic unity remains the key to stability. Montenegro is part of that unity, as a reliable member of NATO and a future member of the European Union," said Milatović.
It is added that the presence of the President of the State at this event confirms that Montenegro actively participates in political dialogue at the highest level and contributes to strengthening the strategic partnership between the European Union and the United States of America.
