Europe Now Movement (PES) MP Tonći Janović assessed that the reaction of the competent services regarding the group of Serbian citizens who arrived in Tivat on a charter flight showed that Montenegrin institutions are taking security challenges seriously.
Janović said that it was very interesting that a group of people with, as he stated, extensive records decided to come to Tivat precisely at the time of the largest international gathering in the country, when over 1.500 police officers were deployed and when the highest security measures were in force.
"Of course, they may have gone on a panoramic tour of Boka Bay and enjoyed the tourist attractions," he added, emphasizing that it was good that the competent authorities assessed that it was necessary to react and check what was going on.
"This event shows two things: that hybrid and other security threats are a reality of the modern world, but also that Montenegro has institutions that take their job seriously and do not wait for a problem to arise to react. The safety of citizens, tourists and international delegations must be above all else," concluded Janović.
