Deputy Mayor Nađa Ljiljanić said that the Movement for Podgorica initiated the meetings. She added that she would support the candidate from the list For the Future of Podgorica.

"There was no agreement between the Democratic People's Party (DNP) and the Europe Now Movement (PES). Some things simply cannot be agreed upon," Ljiljanić told reporters after the meeting.

She said they tried to initiate "an agreement."

"We couldn't reach an agreement tonight," said Ljiljanić, calling for responsibility towards citizens.

She emphasized that the Movement for Podgorica is not in favor of compulsory administration.

She said that they had not considered the possibility of supporting the leader of the Preokret movement, Srđan Perić.

Councilor of the Movement for Podgorica, Miloš Krstović, said that he would see what the final positions were.

He added that the Movement for Podgorica was very constructive and emphasized that they would see what would happen in the coming period.

"We were focused on an agreement within the coalition majority," Krstović told reporters.

The head of the DNP councilors' club, Vladimir Bulatović, left tonight's meeting.

He did not want to make a statement to the media about how the meeting was going, but instead informed reporters that "there will be a statement."

Government representatives in Podgorica agreed on June 8th to come up with a candidate for President of the Capital City Assembly by the end of the week.
