Three people arrested for the attack on the leader of the Left of Serbia, Borko Stefanović, two members of that party and a policeman, have been released from custody, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office from Kruševac stated, and Insider reported today.
The prosecutor's office replied to Insider that the detention of the arrested persons was terminated because "the reasons for which the detention was ordered in the beginning have ceased", without specifying, however, what those reasons were.
This information was confirmed by Borko Stefanović on his Twitter account.
"Today, the detention of the wonderful boys who helped us fight ourselves, as it turns out according to their statements, has been lifted. The instigators are not yet in the focus of the prosecution," wrote Stefanović.
The police in Kruševac arrested M. Ž. (30) and DG (31), suspected of having attacked Stefanović on November 23 and injured him in the head with a metal rod.
The police have identified another person who is suspected of participating in the attack and are intensively searching for him.
