The leader of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) Mladen Bosić said today that the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik sent him a threat to his life and that he therefore took certain measures for his personal safety.
"A few days ago, I received a serious threat from Dodik, and because of that threat, I took certain measures for my personal safety. The threat even defined the place where the attack will take place," Bosić told reporters in Banja Luka.
According to him, he received the threat through an intermediary, but did not report it to the police, because he believes that the police would not take any measures.
Bosić said that those threats reminded him of the murder of SDS vice-president Branislav Garić, whose killer was acquitted because a neuropsychiatric expert found that he was mentally insane.
"This situation, also with a neuropsychiatric expert regarding Dodik's mental health, made me think and I can say that I am not scared, but I am not indifferent either," Bosić said.
SDS vice-president Branislav Garić was killed in his office in Doboj in April 2009 by businessman Rajko Savić, who was later acquitted by the court, only banning him from carrying weapons for six months.
After the final hearing held on Dodik's lawsuit against Bosić for defamation, the SDS leader said that a psychiatric expert testified that Dodik has "major mental problems and suffered from PTSD" due to Bosić's statement that he "stole millions of marks".
Dodik then stated that he would wait for the end of the trial and that, if he met Bosić on the street, the SDS leader would see "how unbalanced he is".
