Sarajevo: 15 people arrested, ID cell preparing terrorist attack?

The police and secret services in Bosnia and Herzegovina arrested 15 people suspected of terrorist activities and connections with radical Islamist groups today in the Sarajevo area, the prosecutor's office announced.

As Fena unofficially learns, one of the main leaders of the group that was "preparing a terrorist attack" was also arrested.

Those arrested maintained contact with radical groups, especially with the structures of the Islamic State (IS) and persons on the battlefields in Syria and Iraq.

Police officers searched two places of religious gathering and several residential buildings used by the detainees.

During the search, certain evidentiary materials were found that indicate a connection with the structures of the Islamic State, as well as an Islamic State flag.

The action was carried out in the Rajlovac area of ​​Sarajevo, where two members of the BiH armed forces were killed in a terrorist attack two months ago.

Prosecutors say evidence has been found of links to IS among those arrested and charged with incitement to terrorist activities and recruitment for terrorist activities.

"The action is being carried out by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the code name "Rez". in violation of the law on freedom of religion," said the director of the Federal Police Administration, Dragan Lukac, for "Avaz".

As the newspaper reports, most of the arrested were brought to the police in four vans, and when they are all taken into custody, they will be questioned at the Prosecutor's Office.
