Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić will travel to Tirana on May 27 for an official visit to Albania, the newspaper "Danas" announced, referring to the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of Serbia and the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of Albania.

As the paper notes on its website, it will be the first official visit of a Serbian official to Albania at the highest level.

The host of the Serbian Prime Minister will be the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, who was in Belgrade on November 10, 2014 in the first visit of the highest Albanian official in the last 68 years.

Announcing Aleksandar Vučić's visit to Albania, the advisor to the Prime Minister of Albania, Shkeljzen Malići, told "Danas" that Prime Ministers Rama and Vučić "are tracing an important turning point on the path that will be the axis of peace and stability in the region".

"If in six or seven months what was missed the whole last century was corrected, it is a big deal not only in Albanian-Serbian relations but also for the entire region," Malići believes.

He announced that the two prime ministers will also discuss the Durres-Nis highway.

"Let Vučić welcome and pull the Serbs' feet, open the way for them to get to know and respect Albania and the Albanians, and then let people from business, tourists, artists, sportsmen take the highway of the future Durres - Niš on both sides...", concluded Malići.

As "Danas" reminds, on February 5 this year, the first bilateral meeting of Serbian and Albanian officials was held in Tirana after 23 years.
