Finance Minister Lazar Krstić announced that by the end of the year, Serbia will probably go to another debt abroad and that they are currently looking at what is the most favorable.
"We have three options - loans from the United Arab Emirates, issuance of Eurobonds on the international market and a loan offered by the International Monetary Fund (IMF)," Krstić told Blic.
He also said that state officials will no longer be able to sit on several chairs and receive five full salaries from the budget, specifying that their additional income will not be taxed like public sector salaries, but will be reviewed or cut.
The Minister of Finance added that he himself was appointed to several positions, but retired.
According to him, the Government of Serbia is trying to protect the poorest with new economic measures, while at the same time punishing officials who create anomalies, adding that it will be impossible to receive a full salary from the budget in addition to a pension.
The Minister of Finance repeated that pensions will increase twice in 2014 - in April by 0,5 percent and in October by one percent, and emphasized that discretionary expenses such as travel for ministries were reduced by 30 to 35 percent.
