The Court of Appeal in Belgrade rejected the appeals of the defense attorneys Miroslav Mišković and Milo Đurašković and confirmed the court's decision to extend their custody.
The court confirmed the decision of the Special Court, which on May 10 extended their detention for another 30 days, spokeswoman for the Court of Appeal Mirjana Piljić told Tanjug.
According to that decision, their detention can last until June 9, after which the Special Court will again consider whether there are reasons for extending the detention.
On May 10, at the proposal of the prosecution for organized crime, the special court extended their detention due to the risk of escape.
The owner of "Delta Holding" Miroslav Mišković and the owner of "Nibens Group" Milo Đurašković were arrested on December 12 last year and have been in the custody of the District Prison in Belgrade since then.
On May 9, the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime filed an indictment against Miroslav Mišković, his son Marko, Đurašković and eight other suspects on suspicion of illegally extracting money from the road company and tax evasion.
The next day, the court confirmed the indictment and submitted it to the accused and defense attorneys for their response. Marko Mišković is under house arrest, and the other defendants are defending themselves from freedom.
