The decision to extradite Svetozar and Miloš Marović to Montenegro is up to the judicial authorities, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić said today.
"We are always open to dialogue. I have excellent and constant communication with the Prime Minister of Montenegro. As for the extradition, that is up to the judicial authorities, it is a decision that at the moment is outside the Government of the Republic of Serbia", said Brnabić at the press conference in Sofia, responding to the questions of journalists from Montenegro.
She also said that the Marović case does not burden the relations between Montenegro and Serbia.
"There are no problems, it is important that we have constant communication, open dialogue and that we all work together to make the region stable."
The Vice-President of the Government of Montenegro, Zoran Pažin, said in April that Montenegro expects Serbia to arrest and extradite Svetozar and Miloš Marović, who were legally convicted in Montenegro and for whom, at the request of Montenegro, international Interpol warrants were issued.
He said this in response to the statement of the Vice President of the Government of Serbia and the Minister of the Interior, Nebojša Stefanović, who stated that Montenegrin citizens who are linked to the crackdown on criminal clans are prohibited from entering Serbia.
As he said, Montenegro has not received any information about the actions of the competent authorities of Serbia according to the Interpol warrants in the case of Svetozar and Miloš Marović, even after a year.
