The hurricane-like wind that blew in Makarska at over 160 kilometers per hour blew away the coffee shop of Željko Kerum, the mayor of Split, in front of his shopping center on Veliki Brdo, writes Tportal.hr.
The nylon-covered aluminum structure of Kerum's cafe disappeared before the gusts, and workers who later tried to repair it failed to find the aluminum parts.
According to the portal, the storm blew away tables and chairs, shattered the glass on the door, and tore out the advertisement at the entrance to the Kerum shopping center.
The strong wind uprooted pine trees, broke traffic signs, overturned engines and cars, and damaged boats.
