The main suspect for the attacks in Norway, Anders Bering Breivik, in his "manifesto" published on the Internet, repeatedly quotes Dr. Srđa Trifković, a political analyst close to the former president of the FR Yugoslavia, Vojislav Kostunica.
Although several Serbian media talk about Trifković as Kostunica's formal adviser, he said in an interview that it was not a very formalized relationship because of his professorship in America.
"But I was always ready to present my views to Dr. Kostunica, who is my friend," said Trifković in an interview.
"Islam is a political project"
In a 1.500-page document titled "2083: A European Declaration of Independence," Breivik, who is accused of killing more than 70 people, outlines far-right views and announces a "European civil war."
He quotes Trifković, especially his works "Win the Jihad" and "The Sword of the Prophet".
In February, Trifković was banned from entering Canada for denying the genocide in Srebrenica
On two Facebook pages dedicated to Trifković, it is written that he was Kostunica's consultant, as well as Biljana Plavšić and Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević.
"They're waiting for enough of them"
Trifković believes that the policy of multi-ethnicity is the wrong way to protect Europe from jihad and says that Islamic believers are waiting for the moment when there are enough of them in one society to start imposing not only their religion but also the legal and moral system they are fighting for.
"The current technical, cultural and financial strength of Europe is only a facade that hides the deep moral and demographic weakness that lies at the base", quotes Breivik, a Serbian political analyst from Chicago.
Breivik notes Trifković's negative review of the EU Parliament's recommendation number 1162 from 1991, which talks about "the contribution of Islamic civilization to European culture".
According to the same source, Breivik represents the position of the European Commission, which assessed that Islam is an integral part of European society.
In February, Trifković was banned from entering Canada for denying the genocide in Srebrenica. The Canadian authorities did not invite Trifković to enter that country, following the initiative of the Canadian Genocide Research Institute (IRGC).
