The first dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina under the auspices of the European Union ended today in Brussels with a meeting that lasted more than five and a half hours.
The head of the Serbian delegation, Borislav Stefanović, expressed his satisfaction with the talks, saying that they were constructive and that some issues are close to being resolved.
Stefanović confirmed that they discussed telecommunications, air traffic, customs stamps, cadastres and registers.
The head of the Kosovo negotiation team, Edita Tahiri, said that the conversation was going well.
Today's meeting in the EU Council of Ministers started at 9.50:15.30 a.m. and ended around XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
One European diplomatic source, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Beta agency that today's meeting was "significantly prolonged in the expectation that some tangible first result would be achieved".
Adviser to the head of European diplomacy, Robert Kuper, is participating in the talks on behalf of the EU.
When asked about the role of the US official Thomas Countryman in the talks, the Beta source said that it was agreed that the EU could invite a third party if it was assessed that it could contribute to the success of the dialogue.
