Nobody who hit churches did not fare well, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic.
Dacic commented on the intention of the Government of Montenegro to appropriate the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church by passing the law on freedom of religion.
"This is a consequence of the fact that Montenegro, in its desire to show Montenegrin statehood, denies Serbianness," Dacic told "Kurir".
He stated that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, spoke in a very polite manner with the desire to avoid possible problems in relations.
"I can't believe that someone will send the police to occupy Ostrog. I can't believe that some policeman will behave like the communists in 1945 when they conquered the church," said Dacic.
In Montenegro, he states, more than 30 percent of people who declare themselves as Serbs and who have been living there for centuries live.
"When Macedonia recognized Kosovo, they said they had to do it, because 30 percent of Albanians live there. 30 percent of Serbs live in Montenegro, so they recognized Kosovo again. What does that mean? No matter how you turn it, the Serbs are at a disadvantage." said Dacic.
He adds, there are seven or eight percent of Serbs in the state administration in Montenegro, and 30 percent of citizens.
As he says, Montenegro interests him from the aspect of the rights of the Serbs living in that country.
"And whether they will be a separate state or not, that is another question. After all, Serbia and Montenegro had several different forms of state in which they lived," says Dačić.
He adds that he is far from saying that Montenegrins do not have the right to declare themselves as Montenegrins, but that declaration has never in history meant mutual conflict and warfare.
"I don't believe that ordinary people in Montenegro have the desire to quarrel with the Serbs," concluded Dacic.
