Rama: Neighboring countries, the EU and the USA offered help to Albania

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that neighboring countries, the European Union and the United States of America (USA) offered help to Albania after a strong earthquake that killed at least six people.

He said that he received phone calls from his Italian, Greek and Turkish colleagues, as well as representatives of the European Union and US embassies in Tirana.

Rama added that Kosovo President Hashim Thaci told him that the Kosovo emergency team had gone to Albania to help with the rescue mission.

At least three residential buildings collapsed in the earthquake last night and rescuers are trying to free those trapped in the ruins.

Doctors treated at least 300 injured.

Albanian leaders appealed to the citizens to keep their composure.
