In the fire that broke out this morning in the nursing home in Andraševac in Zagorje, Croatia, six people were killed, Krapina-Zagorje police spokesman Zoran Lončar told N1 television.
The fire in the Home for the Elderly and Infirm, which is located about 40 kilometers from Zagreb, broke out around five in the morning, and was extinguished around 6.20:XNUMX a.m., because the fire broke out.
According to the Croatian media, the wooden courtyard building next to the main building was completely burnt down.
Firefighters are clearing the scene of the fire so that the police can begin an investigation.
The Oroslavje Voluntary Fire Company (DVD) also participated in extinguishing the fire, sending 17 firefighters and three vehicles.
