Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will arrive in Zagreb at the end of April, and Croatia sees Russia as a partner with whom it should talk, said the head of Croatian diplomacy, Gordan Grlić Radman.
Grlić Radman met with Lavrov in Munich on the sidelines of the security conference.
He later told journalists that they were preparing a meeting in Zagreb and that they wanted to see what both sides expected from that meeting.
"It is in our interest to see how Russia thinks. We care about partnership relations," said the head of diplomacy of the country that currently presides over the European Union.
Grlić Radman also met with his Slovenian colleague Miro Cerar, but, as he said, they did not have time to discuss the border dispute, which has burdened the relationship between the two countries since the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, Hina agency reports.
According to Radman, they discussed the enlargement of the EU and the Croatian presidency of the Union.
Slovenia insists on applying the international arbitration decision that Croatia does not recognize and instead offers bilateral border negotiations.
At the end of January, the Court of the European Union in Luxembourg declared itself incompetent for the Slovenian lawsuit against Croatia due to the alleged violation of European law caused by the non-implementation of the arbitration award.
