The first victim of the coronavirus was recorded in Serbia, announced the Prime Minister of that country, Ana Brnabić.
It is a man from Kikinda.
A total of 135 people have been infected with the coronavirus in that country.
Brnabić stated that isolation measures are the only chance for their health system to fight the coronavirus.
"There are 64 citizens in home isolation, we have eight citizens on respirators, and we have one deceased in the hospital."
She adds that the country's medical teams are fighting for eight lives and that it is the responsibility of all of them to try to protect themselves and the local community by going out as little as possible, only when they have to.
The Government of the Republic of Serbia will further tighten the measures prohibiting movement.
"From tomorrow at 20 p.m. public transport will stop until further notice, and from Sunday at 20 p.m. we will close restaurants, cafes and shopping centers," she said.
He says he will allow food delivery.
She said that thanks to the president of that country, Aleksandar Vučić, more experts and medical equipment should arrive in Serbia.
She states that an increasing number of people are being tested, and a decision was made that the laboratories at the Clinical Center of Serbia and the Clinical Center of Vojvodina perform the testing.
Even today, there were many citizens on the streets of Serbia, and Branbić compared the current situation with Italy, where the situation is similar when it comes to non-compliance with measures.
"If we don't comply with the measures, we will go through the same thing," he says, adding that 627 have died in Italy.
