A meeting between President Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon has just ended in the Presidency of Serbia, where it was agreed that Dr. Kon will continue to lead the team of epidemiologists and fight the covid-19 pandemic in Serbia to the end with his team, he learned. Doctor Kohn will speak in that capacity already at 15 pm, at the regular press conference.
As reported by the media, at the meeting Dr. Kon was appealed not to leave his position, and the main topic of discussion was the request of the Serbian Orthodox Church to temporarily lift the ban on movement during Easter.
Epidemiologist Predrag Kon announced early this morning on his Facebook account that "it is time to retire and let others lead the pandemic", because, as he stated, "he does not want to wage wars against anyone, except against the virus".
"As far as I can see on Facebook, the main 'culprit' for the penetration of the virus into the Gerontological Center in Nis is me and the expert team. It's time for me to step down and let better people handle the pandemic. I don't know better and I can't. I will not wage 'wars' against anyone, except against the virus. I am constantly following all thinking people and as all the anger instead of the situation and the virus itself has turned towards me and the professional team, it is time for me to take shelter.
