The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, said that she was unpleasantly surprised by the statement of the President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, that he would try to influence the five European Union members who did not recognize Kosovo to do so. She assessed that this statement was not in line with good and friendly relations with Slovenia.
Ana Brnabić pointed out that this was not discussed during the recently held meeting, which, as she said, was long and open.
"At that meeting, I requested that they, as a country that recognized the unilateral declaration of Kosovo's independence, influence Pristina to respect the agreements it negotiated and signed," Brnabić told reporters.
The Prime Minister welcomed the fact that, as she said, they invited Pristina to implement the Brussels Agreement, with an emphasis on the final formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities.
"We currently have very friendly relations with Slovenia, and that statement is not in the spirit of friendly relations with Serbia, and I am very unpleasantly surprised," Brnabić was clear.
She said that she should talk about it with the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Miro Cerar, and pointed out that such statements do not contribute to cooperation, regional trust, and that she sees no reason for Slovenia to interfere.
