The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, said today that the poet Desanka Maksimović will not be expelled from the school program in Serbian gymnasiums.
"Desanka Maksimović will never be expelled from the education system of Serbia. Never. Period," she wrote on her Twitter account.
As part of the change in the teaching program of Serbian language and literature in high schools, the committee of the Institute for the Improvement of Education and Training decided that from the third grade turn off selection from the poetry of Desanka Maksimović, and from the fourth collection "I'm looking for pardon", the newspaper Večernje novosti reported.
