Unknown persons tore up a poster with the image of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and the inscription "Grateful Srebrenica" in that city of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On Saturday, the local government in Srebrenica put up a poster in the settlement of Učina Bašča as a sign of gratitude for the multimillion-dollar funds that the President of Serbia donated for the recovery and development of Srebrenica, reports regional television N1.
The mayor of Srebrenica, Mladen Grujicic, said that the case had been reported to the police.
"We put up a poster in front of the municipal administration, considering that we have an obligation to thank President Vučić, who contributed a lot with his donation to make the lives of the people of Srebrenica better. It's a small gesture we wanted to express our gratitude. However, someone tore it up and showed it that he does not want a common life and Serbia's outstretched hand," Grujicic said.
On the other hand, the former mayor of Srebrenica Ćamil Duraković states that everything is a consequence of the election year in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"I'm sorry that it's becoming a subject of political turmoil. If the municipality and local government want to say thank you, there are different ways to do it. This is nothing more than pumping ethno-national stories," said Duraković.
