Today, the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH did not support the proposal of the opposition MPs on the dismissal of the Minister of Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Staša Košarac (SNSD).
13 deputies voted for the dismissal, 15 were against, and 11 deputies abstained from voting.
The request for the dismissal of the Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs Siniša Ilić (United Srpska) did not receive an entity majority, so the decision on his status will be made in the second round of voting.
16 deputies voted for Ilić's dismissal, 14 against, and nine deputies abstained from voting.
In order for him to be dismissed, the majority of deputies from the RS should have been among those who voted for his dismissal.
Before the vote, Košarac, addressing the deputies, admitted that he went to celebrate the birthday of the doctor who treated his late mother, with whom he is a close friend.
He added that he was "not thinking" when he was invited to the party.
"I will respect the decisions of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly", Košarac concluded.
Before the vote, the deputies had a heated three-hour debate.
In the explanation of the initiative for the dismissal of Minister Košarac, it was stated that during the declared state of calamity in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state of emergency in the RS, he attended a gathering in a restaurant in Sarajevo, contrary to the measures to suppress the coronavirus pandemic and prevent the spread of the infection.
It is added that with his irresponsible behavior he violated the laws that are in force during the state of calamity and state of emergency.
The Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Siniša Ilić, is said to have organized a wider gathering and celebration at his home during the state of emergency in the RS during the Easter holidays, contrary to the measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic and prevent the spread of the infection.
