The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, said that restrictive measures will "probably" be introduced in several cities tomorrow, similar to those introduced by some local governments in Serbia in the past few days due to the outbreak of covid-19.
She said on TV Pink that a meeting of the Crisis Staff for the suppression of the infectious disease covid-19 will be held tomorrow, and that there will not be complete bans on movement or assembly, as during a state of emergency.
She reminded that different forms of state of emergency have been introduced in Novi Pazar, Kragujevac, Užice and Vranje for the time being.
According to her, the measures will be in force in certain places and not on the entire territory of Serbia.
"Belgrade certainly has the most infected people, not per capita but in total, but again two-thirds of all infected people are in Belgrade. It is mostly a younger population, so we will look at how to target measures and solve that problem at that moment." .
She stated that the operation of nightclubs will be "certainly" prohibited, and that the prohibition or restriction of the operation of restaurants will also be considered.
She said that she was "thinking about what is smart (in the current situation)" and that it is "obvious" that the corona will be present until a vaccine against covid-19 is developed.
"You have to live until then... And those clubs and those restaurants are the economy, which fill the budget from which pensions are paid," she said.
The Prime Minister of Serbia stated that for now there are no new cases in the Government of Serbia, that "corona is a risk that the profession (of politics) carries with it" and that she had been tested earlier, when it turned out that the person she was in contact with was positive for coronavirus.
Kon: The public will get an explanation, the government decides on that
Epidemiologist from Serbia, Predrag Kon, said on the occasion of the almost threefold increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus in Serbia the day after the election, that he received an explanation about it and that the public will also receive it, but not from him, but for the government to decide on it.
Kon said in the show Utisak nedjelje that he had access to the same data that was published officially on the kovid.rs website, and that he had not seen the database of the Batut Institute that Birn referred to when he announced that the statistics of infected and dead were significantly more than was published.
"I asked for it to be investigated," Kon said, adding that access to the Batut Institute's database is limited, and that he has no insight into that database.
He said that he did not believe that he would ask for the postponement of the election, based on the information he had access to.
"Revisions of that data should be done, it is necessary," Kon said, adding that he did not believe that anyone had concealed the data.
He also said that he will not resign because he cannot "abandon ship" in this situation.
