Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar today denied allegations from social networks and some media about a large number of deaths due to coronavirus infection in Novi Pazar.
"Only eight, nine citizens died," said the minister during a tour of the General Hospital in that city.
He said that all ventilators are functioning and that there are currently three patients on the ventilators.
Prime Minister Ana Brnabić said that the Novi Pazar hospital "will become infected" and called on all unemployed health workers to report to the administration, "where they will be employed immediately".
During their stay, several dozen citizens gathered in front of the hospital, whistling and shouting "this is not a bus, this is covid" as a sign of protest.
Some doctors turned their backs to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health in protest, or refused to extend their hand in greeting.
