The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, said that according to "a large number of parameters", today is the worst day in Serbia since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, as 24 people died as a result of the infection in the previous 18 hours.

In an extraordinary address to the public, she said that in that period, out of 8.646 people tested, 386 were newly infected, and that 130 people are currently on ventilators.

"We are approaching the worst parameters from April. Then on April 12 we had 146 people on ventilators, and on April 16 we had 445 new infections. If we continue like this, we will quickly reach those numbers," said the Prime Minister in the Government of Serbia.

She stated that the most critical epidemiological situation is in Belgrade, followed by Šabac, Kragujevac and Novi Pazar.

"It is the result of our behavior and indiscipline from five to six days ago, and we will see the results of the protest in three or four days," said Ana Brnabić.
