Honorary President of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and Member of Parliament Milutin Mrkonjić said today that "there is no chance that a new government will be formed without socialists".
"Even though there have been no concrete talks between Aleksandar Vučić and Ivica Dačić, I am sure that the new government will not be formed without our participation. There are several reasons why socialists must be part of the government," Mrkonjić told the Beta agency.
He stated that the electoral result achieved by the socialists in the previous elections was not the only reason for them to be invited to the government.
"The government does not need to be rejuvenated. The government is not an assembly. The government needs proven experts, and the SPS is the strongest party in Serbia when it comes to personnel and experts. There is no place for trainees in the government," said Mrkonjić.
He pointed out that the economic program that Aleksandar Vučić presented the other day fully corresponds to the SPS and coincides with everything that the socialists have, both in terms of personnel and ideology.
Brnabić said that Vučić was very disappointed in some people close to him and that it was hard for him to bear the support that their coalition partners from the SPS gave to the opposition protests in Belgrade.
